This past weekend, people in Tallahassee overdosed on their stupid juice. They heard a silly rumor about some oil rigs in the Gulf being knocked out by Hurricane Ike. These Tallahassians gave this bit of news, as well as a glass of ridiculous, to their friends and family. With that, there was a mad dash for gas on Friday, for fear of a gas shortage. By the end of the weekend, what they feared most had occurred. There was a gas shortage.
Few gas stations were slowly getting more gas, but once someone heard about gas being available, that station was slammed and depleted. I had been driving around with less than a quarter tank of gas since the weekend. To preserve the little gas I had left, I decided to work from home. This was a refreshing change from my windowless office at work. I could look out an open window and breathe in fresh air.
Good news. I was able to get a full tank of gas this morning. Back to the office tomorrow.
